Little Learners Love Literacy

Learn and Leap is an Education Centre which is authorized to use the Little Learners Love Literacy® program. The Little Learners Love Literacy® program is offered at Learn and Leap for children 3 to 4 years of age and teaches the skills needed to be successful in reading, writing and spelling.

The Little Learners Love Literacy® program is offered at Learn and Leap for children 3 to 4 years of age and teaches the skills needed to be successful in reading, writing and spelling:

  • phonemic awareness (ability to hear, identify and manipulate the sounds in a spoken word)
  • the alphabetic principle (the connection between sounds and letters)
  • segmenting and blending words, fine motor skills required for handwriting, spelling and reading

The weekly, one-hour sessions also prepare your child for school and the classroom setting with social skills and classroom routines a big part of the learning. The program covers Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Little Learners Love Literacy over the year and is perfectly suited to 3 to 4-year old children. Children aged 3 years of age have successfully completed this program and then gone on to do the School Ready Program at 4 years of age. Participation of 3-year old children can be dependent upon ability to focus and engage.

Delivery of the program is fun and creative, using craft, music/singing and games to engage children in their learning. The sessions are run in small groups by a qualified and highly experienced Literacy Coach.
